Michigan State University Extension is collaborating with the Traverse Bay Area
Intermediate School District and the Michigan Land Use Institute to host a workshop on February 26, 2015 in Traverse City, MI that will provide a number of resources regarding how to get involved with, start and sustain a school garden.
- Participants will learn to plan, maintain and run
- a school garden while integrating it into the curriculum.
- From gardening basics to building a garden team and trying out classroom lessons and activities, this workshop is for educators and volunteers interested in hands-on teaching tools.
- School garden activities are presented as a strategy for meeting curriculum content expectations as in the Common Core and Michigan Model Nutrition Standards.
