School Garden Training Opportunity

Michigan State University Extension is collaborating with the Traverse Bay Area
Intermediate School District and the Michigan Land Use Institute to host a workshop on February 26, 2015 in Traverse City, MI that will provide a number of resources regarding how to get involved with, start and sustain a school garden.

  • Participants will learn to plan, maintain and run
  • a school garden while integrating it into the curriculum.
  • From gardening basics to building a garden team and trying out classroom lessons and activities, this workshop is for educators and volunteers interested in hands-on teaching tools.
  • School garden activities are presented as a strategy for meeting curriculum content expectations as in the Common Core and Michigan Model Nutrition Standards.

The registration deadline is Feb. 19, 2015.

Payment can be made by credit card or check. An invoice will be emailed immediately after registration is completed. If paying by check, please mail check to address on invoice.
